Welcome to Woodrush High School, an extremely popular and over-subscribed Academy for 11 to 18-year olds. Woodrush is a thriving secondary school committed to building supportive, professional relationships between students, staff, parents, carers and the community we serve, to ensure all our young people receive the excellent education they deserve.
With an established reputation both locally and regionally, Woodrush has a strong history of success. In our most recent inspection we were judged by Ofsted as a ‘Good’ school with ‘Outstanding’ leadership & management and ‘Outstanding’ student personal development, behaviour and welfare.
I am delighted that we are a designated Teaching School and a National Support school, which reflects our moral purpose and commitment to the support, training and development of teachers and students across our Alliance of schools.
Our vision places emphasis on ensuring academic success for all, whilst developing our young people to be well rounded individuals who will make a positive contribution to society. As a thriving community school, we value the contribution all our students make to the life and success of everything we do. Our pastoral care is a clear strength and ensures that students and staff feel safe, valued and are happy to be a part of our school. Indeed, visitors comment on the ‘warmth’ and sense of ‘family’ which is tangible around the school.
We offer students a curriculum which is rich, progressive and inspires students to learn, enabling students to access a wide range of subjects and courses to acquire knowledge, understanding and skills in all aspects of their education.
Woodrush staff are hardworking, committed and well-qualified, dedicated to delivering an ever-changing curriculum in a vibrant and exciting way. Woodrush staff work tirelessly to ensure that every student can and will make progress. They all share a common goal: to make our school the very best it can be and make each learner’s experience, a successful one. We have extremely high expectations of both ourselves and our students.
However, of all our achievements, we are most proud of our young people. Their behaviour is excellent. They are courteous, friendly and respectful of each other and staff and enjoy their learning and the extensive extra-curricular opportunities afforded to them.
We are justifiably proud to be a part of Woodrush. So, whatever your interest in our Academy, I hope you find the information on this website useful. If you have any further questions, or would like to visit our school, please get in touch, we would be delighted to welcome you.
