Meet the Team

Natasha Rancins: Head Teacher and Founder of WTC

Within the current climate of change in our Education system, one thing remains clear: schools are stronger when they have opportunities to work together. ALL schools have a valuable contribution to make, regardless of most recent ratings and results and this is the key principles of sharing and facilitating the best practice that drives Woodrush TC forward. We aim to help leadership and achieve the highest of standards of learning and teaching. Ultimately, our core principle and purpose is that every student has the opportunity to achieve the very best outcomes possible.



Samantha Bullivant

Role within the Training Consortium: Initial Teacher Training Lead

Sam is ITT coordinator for Woodrush TC; she oversees all primary and secondary School Direct places across the alliance, ensuring that student teachers are well-placed throughout their training year. Sam designs and delivers school based training for our School Direct trainees and visits them on placement to observe and give feedback. Sam is                                           also the senior mentor for all PGCE students on university led routes and organises and                                               delivers their whole school issues training. She has built strong relationships with 3 local                                              universities; Birmingham, Warwick and Worcester to ensure we cover a wide geography. 


Kerry Scotney 

Role within the Training Consortium: ITT Professional Mentor

Kerry is the ITT Professional Mentor who looks after all trainees and mentors based at Woodrush High school; organising weekly training, completing observations, quality assuring and providing support for everyone involved. 

Kerry has been a subject mentor for many years across all 3 universities, Birmingham,                                                  Worcester and Warwick and has vast amounts of experience as a coach and mentor. She                                            is extremely passionate about teacher training and ensuring the quality of mentoring                                                    provided is of the highest standard.  She really enjoys seeing trainee teachers grow and                                               develop into their role of confident and competent practioners.                            


 Sam Hammond 

Role within the Training Consortium : Senior ECT Mentor and Lead History Teacher

Sam provides the day-to-day support of both mentors and ECTs and organises (and often delivers) our inhouse Wednesday afternoon training; he is also responsible for the implementation of ECF provision in school. Another part of Sam’s role is the assessment of the ECTs performance against the Teacher Standards at the end of the first and second                                              year of the ECT programme (as well as regular progress reviews throughout both years).


Jay Barber

Role within the Training Consortium: Deputy Head and ECF Partnership Oversight

Jay is responsible for ensuring overall quality assurance and effective administration of the ECT programme between Woodrush and our partner schools. He also has strategic oversight for staff CPDL, development and support at large.

Abigail Zaman

Role within the Training Consortium: Marketing and Communications Manager

Abi is an initial contact for Woodrush TC and focuses on the promotion and marketing of CPD opportunities within the alliance, teacher training recruitment and assistance with all key communications with the teaching school. You will regularly see Abi at teacher recruitment fairs and Woodrush TC events. 




Paula Wilkins

Role within the Training Consortium: Administrator

Paula is an initial contact for Woodrush TC. She currently works 2 days in the consortium and the rest of the week in Sixth Form as a KS5 Progress Leader.
